300 Sower Boulevard Room C Frankfort, KY 40601This five day training will be packed with information, networking, and knowledge sharing. The class is limited to 40 people due to the size of the room. The training will be from 9am - 4pm Est. A finalized schedule will be sent prior to class. All transportation directors and superintendents are welcome, however, priority will be given to new directors and superintendents coming into transportation after July 1, 2023.
6 EILA credits per day will be provided. To receive the credits, you must remain the whole class, partial credit will not be available.
Being a transportation director is not easy. The mission of the Pupil Transportation Branch is to help you navigate the knowledge and resources you need to run your operations as smoothly as possible. This class will encompass laws, regulations, policies and procedures, kindergarten and preschool transportation, McKinney Vento, special needs transportation, T-Codes, SEEK overview, and records retention. In addition directors will receive training on the driver training program and inspector program. When you walk away from this training, you will have be equipped with an overview of your responsibilities from the KDE perspective.
