Common Threads is an evening  to celebrate the women who have thrived in the programs provided by Dress for Success Western Massachusetts.

Imagine what it is like to be a single mother trying to find work during a pandemic, when many people are working remotely and few employers are hiring. That was the situation in which Victoria found herself.Victoria says that Dress for Success Western Massachusetts was there when no one else was: “I learned that I have the power to change my life and my future, and that I am not alone in this journey.” Dress for Success remains dedicated to working with women, like Victoria, who are struggling to stay in or find a job. For the past 20 years, this evening has served as a way to celebrate women who have engaged in our programs and gained economic independence. This year will be no different; the stories you will hear about overcoming challenges and achieving dreams are sure to inspire!COVID-19 is making life more difficult for many women. But these times are especially tough for the women in Dress for Success Western Massachusetts’s programs, 80% of whom live below the poverty line, and 58% of whom are single mothers.Thanks to support from people like you, we increased our efforts to deliver our programs virtually – engaging over 70 women. At the same time, we launched a new digital literacy program that provides more than 250 hours of one-on-one coaching, and delivers laptops and other equipment so women can access and utilize the internet to work from home and/or take trainings.
