2021 OYL Ref Clinics: Online Zoom Classes- Mar23,24 & 29/ In person Apr 3/4

All Junior officials must watch all 3 Zoom clinics online with attending one of them live online and attend one in person clinic on April 3rd or 4th to referee youth lacrosse games in Oregon/SW WA, during the 2021 season. 

Only Returning, experienced referees will be nominated to referee this year for the 2021 season, regardless of their 2020 status.

JO pay should be $25-35 per game (per your club pay scale) and Adult Refs should be paid $45.00 per game.

 **NEW** Youth Coaches are invited to attend the OYL Ref Clinic for FREE--NO online registration necessary (DO NOT FINISH THE PAYMENT!), just show up at a clinic and sign in as a youth coach.  You will receive no course materials, equipment or rulebook.  You can take the J1 or J2 online test for FREE and become certified.  If you want the course materials, equipment and rulebook, you must register as a regular participant.

Attendees for the $25.00 Clinic Fee will receive:

• OYL specific ruleset
• 2020 NFHS HS Rulebook and 2020 USL Youth Rulebook (link)
• Whistle
• Flag 
• Lanyard

Attendees for the $15.00 Clinic Fee will receive:

• OYL specfic ruleset
• NO gear is included and you should have your own whistle, lanyard, flag and 2020 Rulebook from last year.

Carriculum includes OYL/US Lacrosse rules and on field practicum.

To serve as an official you must be covered by liability insurance, eitherthrough US Lacrosse, through your club's insurance policy (as long as itexplicitly covers your work as an official), or both. To receive liabilityinsurance benefits as an official through US Lacrosse you must formallyregister with them as an official. If you are already a US Lacrosse memberas a Player, you must change your membership to add "Referee" to yourstatus, so you are a Player/Referee in the US Lacrosse membership system.

OYL Referee certification process:

Returning Invited Officials: 1)   Register and attend all 3 Online Zoom referee clinics on March 23,24 & 29th. All 3 classes will be recorded by you must attend one of the three classes live on Zoom. You must also attend one in person clinic on Apr 3rd or 4th location TBD.

2)  Complete the online test. 

 Returning Officials who have or intend to advance to J2 status: For 2021 OYL is not specifying J1 or J2 status and all officials will be returning JO's or adult officials and will be considered one pool of refs.

2) Register and attend all 3 Online Zoom referee clinics on March 23,24 & 29th. All 3 classes will be recorded by you must attend one of the three classes live on Zoom. You must also attend one in person clinic on Apr 3rd or 4th location TBD.

3)  Complete the online test.
