Generational Poverty

The 2020 Coast to Cascades Community Wellness Network Community Health Summit will examine generational poverty with an inspirational account from Donna Beegle, EdD and presentations outlining the reach of poverty in the tri-county region. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with community organizations working to improve outcomes for people experiencing poverty during interactive break-out sessions.

Opening Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Donna Beegle

Bio: Donna Beegle, EdD, inspires and educates individuals, organizations, politicians and entire communities with proven models to better outcomes for people in poverty. Born into a migrant labor family and married at 15, Dr. Donna Beegle is the only member of her family who has not been incarcerated. By age 25, she earned her GED and then, within 10 years, received her doctorate in Educational Leadership.

You will be able to connect with community organizations working to improve outcomes for people experiencing poverty through interactive break-out sessions.

The 2020 Virtual Community Health Summit is open to all community members in Linn, Benton, and Lincoln Counties, Oregon. People who may find this summit particularly helpful are those involved with services in the area of education (all levels), public health, mental health, oral health, policy making, and non-profit community services.
