GRADES: 2nd -5th 
COST: $25.00 per student 
MS. Hopkinson has written more than 50 books including “Apples to Oregon” which was a featured book for Oregon Reads during the 2009 150th celebration of statehood. 
The author will present a writing workshop centered on a pioneer family who immigrated to Oregon in the mid-nineteenth century.  The father transports his beloved fruit trees and family to Oregon.  Students will write a letter to a person of the past and tell a story of a family journey. Ms. Hopkinson will walk the students through each step and there will be time for peer sharing and also sharing letters with the whole group. 
The author will bring a selection of books available at a discount rate of $10 for hardback and $5 for paperback. PE+ members will receive one free paperback book per registered student.
