2018 Broward County BioBlitz

Urban horticulture programs are designed to help residents with environmental and pest control needs. Master Gardeners, Education/Training Specialists and Extension Agent are always available to assist with landscape and gardening questions. Programs, such as Florida Friendly Landscaping™, teach residents to maintain attractive landscapes while reducing yard waste, pesticide, fertilizer, and water use. Together, we keep Broward green!

UF/IFAS Extension Education Broward County Urban Horticulture and Natural Resources

<P>A BioBlitz is an intensive one-day study of biodiversity in a location, bringing scientsts and volunteer citizen-scientists together.  Participants will be on the look out for birds, mammals, reptiles, butterflies and insects.  Then utilizing a smartphone application called iNaturalist willing participents will upload pictures and together with the guides and UF experts identify the creature.</P>

<P>Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by and adult.</P>

<P CLASS="MsoPlainText">10:30AM-12:30PM Mapping</P>
<P CLASS="MsoPlainText">2PM–4PM Focus on butterflies</P>
<P CLASS="MsoPlainText">4PM–6PM Focus on Insects</P>
<P CLASS="MsoPlainText">5:30PM–7:30PM Focus on birds</P>
<P><SPAN>5:30PM–7:30PM Focus on reptiles</SPAN><BR></P>
