Description

Duration: 90 minutes | Ages 12+ | Cost: $15.00/person

We are excited to host your group for a private tour at Sierra Nevada Brewing in Mills River, North Carolina!

In 1980, Ken Grossman founded Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in a 3,000 square foot, rented, metal warehouse in Chico, California. Today, our North Carolina production facility is a stone and brick temple to craft beer, spanning over 300,000 square feet.

Our striking copper-clad brewhouse is distinctly different from our original repurposed dairy tanks. Our whole-cone hops now arrive in huge bales: 200 times larger than the 1-pound samples we originally sourced. Our packaging line can fill 900 bottles a minute: much faster than our initial, vintage soda bottle filler that Ken retrofitted to handle beer.

On this 90-minute tour, your guide will show you the ins-and-outs of our East Coast home and explain how we overcame the odds and crossed the country in 37 short years.

This tour focuses on Sierra Nevada’s heritage and history as well as the brewing process. If you are 21 or older, we will cap off the experience with a guided, educational tasting of eight Sierra Nevada beers right next to our open fermenters.
