2017 Wilmington Wine & Chocolate Festival
The festival opens with a gala style ‘Grand Tasting’ Friday evening, February 3rd, 7-10PM and has been dubbed “the perfect date.” Upon arrival, you’ll receive a commemorative wine glass as your tasting journey begins. Treat yourself to mouth-watering complimentary hors d'oeuvres.
Center stage will be a collection of some of the most talented musicians along the coastal regions of North and South Carolina. (To be announced)
When the ‘toe-tapping’ begins – feel free to cut loose on the parquet dance floor, nestled beneath a lit 30-foot steel Eifel Tower, designed and built especially for the annual event. The Eifel Tower is erected center in the main hall, surrounded by park benches and beautiful foliage.
Enjoy further live comedic entertainment at 8PM in the Riverview Comedy & Craft Beer Lounge. (To be announced)
As if food, dancing, live entertainment and laughter were not enough, the event anchors will be set amongst a beautiful European Street Market. Wine, Chocolate, Specialty Food & Artisan vendors will tantalize partygoers with a wide variety of their best creations, offering products for tasting and sell throughout the evening. Your favorite wines, confections and artisan products will be available for purchase by the glass, bottle, or case and from serving sizes to large quantities – with Concierge Services to hold your coat and purchases until you are ready for them.
North Carolina vineyards and wineries will come from far and wide. From the rolling hills of the Yadkin Valley, with its picture perfect Grape Growers’ Vineyards like Shadow Springs and Windsor Run Cellars, to participants heading east like Ginger Creek and returning favorite Muscadines Stephens and Duplin. Show favorites Flint Hill, Country Squire and Southern Charm return as well! We are very excited to have a wonderful variety of returning wineries and several new vineyards like Stony Mountain this year! The event will provide a nice balance of both dry wines and sweet wines.
Sample the sweet sensations offered by our region's Signature Chocolatiers who have perfected the art of creating and crafting fine chocolate. Experience some of the latest unique specialty foods, spices, oils and fruit vinegars.
The Marketplace, Saturday & Sunday will host additional Live Music, Children's Activities in the upstairs Kidz Korner and Culinary Demonstrations, held at scheduled times in the Coastline Centers picturesque Riverview Terrace Room and will be presented by Experts in Foods and Wine. Wine & Chocolate (vendor) Samplings, Demonstrations and Children's Activities are free with admission.
