The wing will be hosting a field training exercise for all CAP members interested in getting involved in ground team operations. Expanding ORWG Emergency Services in both capability and capacity is one of our ORWG priority objectives. All interested and capable members are highly encouraged to attend. Training will be conducted at all levels from Ground Team Member – 3 to

Ground Branch Director. A mission number has been assigned, and appropriate fuel costs will be covered by CAP according to applicable regulation. The small fee to participate will be used to support training and may include: on-site meal support, personal protection equipment, awards and mementos, and operational supplies.

Senior Member and Cadet support is both requested and required to provide mission essential support in the areas of: Transportation, Logistics, Instruction, Food Services, Communications, Incident Base Support, Medical, and Chaplain. Volunteers will gain skills, experience, and exposure to first rate Civil Air Patrol professional development. Volunteers and Trainees are encouraged to use Eventbright to register and indicate your: 1. Desired priority training goals, 2. Support capacities and interest, and 3. Operational Experience and specific subject matter expertise.

The Mill City location has an indoor classroom facility, electricity, potable water, and parking. Ample resources are available to support field hygiene. Ground Team Trainees are encouraged to review the Ground Team Manual, pack an appropriate (not necessarily perfect or expensive) 24 hour Pack, and be prepared to camp outside or bring bedding for available covered accommodation. General Emergency Services (GES) and First Aid training are required prior to final GT3 certification. Ground Team candidates should plan on completing these requirements as appropriate. An aircrew survival course may be available if there is enough interest.
