2017 Pathways Summit: Sector-Based Career Pathways

Created in 2001, the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) at the University of Indianapolis serves as a leading convener, catalyst and collaborator for dynamic, innovative education change to dramatically impact student achievement throughout Indiana. CELL's efforts are rooted in the principle that all students, regardless of background, should graduate from high school prepared for postsecondary education, training and success in the 21st-century global economy.CELL has leveraged resources to unite schools, communities and businesses to make substantial, sustainable, statewide education change to improve academic success for Hoosier students and strengthen the quality of life and economic development in Indiana.

Industry & Business: Morning Session
While welcome to stay all day, the morning agenda is geared specifically towards employers looking to fill both their immediate and future needs for workers.  Outcomes of the morning session will be
<UL>
<LI>a deeper understanding of how to recruit and grow internal talent from the millennial and Z generations, </LI>
<LI>exposure to successful business engagement at the K-12, postsecondary, and adult/incumbent levels, </LI>
<LI>and a draft of a plan to connect with your local workforce development system.</LI>
</UL>
 
Other Education-Workforce Participants: Morning & Afternoon Sessions
Other participants such as economic development, education administration, career and technical education, adult education, postsecondary advisors, and school counselors should attend the full day.  Focuses of the afternoon session will be
<UL>
<LI>developmentally appropriate career counseling K-16, </LI>
<LI>engaging community, industry, and education partners across systems,</LI>
<LI>and leveraging business and industry engagement in the core classrooms.</LI>
</UL>
 
A light breakfast and full lunch will be served.
 
*Day 2, June 27th, will feature a deeper dive for education-workforce teams prepared to launch local pathways.  This second day is invitation only so when registering, please select yes on the registration page if you are interested in receiving more information about attending on June 27th.
