CommUNITY: The Power of People in Action examines how people take concepts, build support, and put them into action. Community development leaders across the spectrum want to know how to smartly effect change, in every area that impacts our communities and their people.  We seek lasting change that pays dividends to residents, entrepreneurs, responsible developers and investors.  We want to break the cycle of triage management and create true wealth and opportunity. At the 2017 Community Development Summit, we will lift up models that have successfully achieved these goals.

<H2 CLASS="p3">Registration:</H2>
Your registration fee includes materials; admittance to plenary sessions, breakout sessions, and the exhibitor hall; breakfast and lunch during the Summit; and heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks at an evening cocktail reception. It does not include lodging or parking. 
 
Early Bird Registration is available through April 28th. After that, the price increases by $25 for standard registration.
 
<H2 CLASS="p3">Mobile Workshops:</H2>
This year, we are offering one Mobile Workshop to Summit attendees, but preregistration and payment is required. The workshop costs $25 to participate and will take place from 11:45 - 3:45 PM on Wednesday, May 24. Space is limited to 25 participants. In order to attend, you must select the workshop’s additional ticket at registration. The Mobile Workshop description is below.
 
Community Supported Sustainability in Allegheny Rivertowns
The neighboring Allegheny River communities of Millvale, Etna, and Sharpsburg are facing new opportunities and old challenges involving equity, water, food access, air quality, mobility, and energy as the amount of new development is increasing in these three City of Pittsburgh-adjacent riverfront boroughs after decades of decline and disinvestment. Local organizations, public officials, and residents are coalescing around shared visions for each community to ensure that new development and local changes are equitable, sustainable, and beneficial to the entire area and people who call it home. Join the Millvale Community Library, Etna Borough, and Sharpsburg Neighborhood Organization as they lead a tour highlighting recent work completed - collaboratively and individually — throughout the communities, current initiatives taking shape, and future plans for community-oriented progress throughout these towns and across their boundaries. Stops on the tour will include local riverfront parks, business districts, community gardens, development sites, public art installations, and green projects.
