Description

The first Annual A-Town Throwdown will challenge the best that windsurfing, kiteboarding and standup paddling have to offer. Showcase your talents amongst top competitors in our freestyle and downwind competitions and catch some stellar air and waves up the Columbia River Gorge in Arlington, Oregon.

This fun event is sponsored by the Port of Arlington and will showcase the newly reconstructed launch area at the Marina. Competition will include Freestyle Windsurfing contest, Strapless Freestyle Kiteboarding contest, and a 9-mile Downwind SUP race from Blalock to Arlington. Back-up wind day is June 18th. Free for all spectators to attend.

  • 8 AM - 12 PM Registration Open
  • 9 - 9:30 AM Competitor Safety Meetings:
    • Wind/Kite on the Jetty
    • SUP Downwind at Earl Snell Park Beach
  • 9:30 – 10:30 AM Shuttle to Blalock for downwind SUP competitors
  • 10 AM – 5 PM Demos open (Earl Snell Park)
  • 9 AM - 10 PM Vendors open (Earl Snell Park)
  • 11 PM - 6 PM Food open (Earl Snell Park)
  • 11 AM - 2 PM Downwind SUP race starts (Blalock)
  • 1 PM - 4 PM Wind & Kite Freestyle competitions start (Jetty)
  • 11 AM- 9 PM Beer Garden open (Earl Snell Park)
  • 4 - 5 PM Awards Ceremony (Earl Snell Park)
  • 4 - 9 PM Live Music: The Sceptre Brothers & local bands

Ticket includes:

  • Entry into our Freestyle Windsurfing, Strapless Freestyle Kiteboarding competitions or Downwind SUP race.
  • Rash guard (to the first 70 registered competitors)

Note: PFDs and Invasive Species Permits are required for all SUP racers and leashes are highly recommended.
