2016 National Latin@ Institute / Conferencia Nacional Latina del 2016

The 2016 National Latin@ Institute will bring together professionals from a variety of fields. The Institute will provide participants with significant opportunities for networking, resource and expertise sharing and critical discussions on traditionally challenging topics.

Institute Objectives:
By the end of the Institute, participants will be better able to:

• Critically analyze the significance, tensions and strengths of diversity within the Latin@ communities
• Utilize a human rights framework in their work
• Integrate concrete organizational development practices and tools in their advocacy work
• Connect with other organizations and activists to advance their individual and collective practice.

La Conferencia Nacional Latina reúne a profesionales de diversos campos laborales. Este evento pone a disposición de l@s participantes un sinnúmero de oportunidades para que puedan establecer contactos, compartir recursos y experiencias, así como sostener cruciales discusiones sobre temas históricamente controversiales.

Objetivos de la Conferencia:
Una vez finalizada la conferencia, l@s participantes van a ser capaces con más eficacia de:

• Analizar críticamente cuán significativa es la diversidad en las comunidades latinas, las tensiones que esta diversidad genera en las mismas y la fuerza que les otorga.
• Llevar a cabo su trabajo desde una perspectiva de derechos humanos, empleando en éste un análisis interseccional.
• Integrar prácticas y herramientas organizativas concretas.
• Establecer lazos con otras organizaciones y activistas en la promoción de su práctica profesional (individual o colectiva).
