Learn more about the campus by taking a one-hour walking campus tour. The tour will showcase main academic points on campus, and visits to a small classroom, lecture hall, libraries, and labs. Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are encouraged for the tour.

The Impact of a Learning Community of First Term GPA

The presenter will share findings from an Analysis of Covariance Study (ANCOVA) conducted to determine if the Access to College Excellence (ACE) learning communities impact first term GPA for its participants. The presentation will discuss the design of a learning community and the findings from the study.

Transferring to UH Mānoa

Transfer students make up a good percentage of the incoming students every year. Therefore, it is important to assist these students in the admissions process and help make their transition as smooth as possible.

This session will outline the three ways to transfer to UH Mānoa: regular admissions, the Kaieie Degree Pathway Program, and Automatic Admissions. In addition, we will discuss the transfer admission requirements, application process, and transfer credit evaluation process.

Accessing Mānoa: Understanding MAI (Mānoa Access Initiative), HUI (Hawai‘i Undergraduate Initiative) & COP (College Opportunities Program)

This presentation will provide a brief overview of three different college preparation and success programs offered by UH Mānoa. Participants in this session will get a clearer understanding of the objectives, requirements, admissions procedures, and programmatic differences for the three programs. There will also be a discussion about the target audience for each program, benefits for participation, and student outcomes. Counselors will have the opportunity to talk with staff and have any questions about MAI, HUI, and COP answered.

Math & Chemistry Placement Exams: An Important First Step for STEM Majors

An increasing number of high school students enter UH Mānoa with the intent of pursuing a Bachelor degree in a STEM Major. The first step in obtaining a STEM degree in a timely manner is to successfully pass the chemistry and math placement exams.

A well prepared student is key, and this where you come in! High school counselors play a pivotal role in the relay of important information to soon-to-be college bound seniors. Join us at this workshop for tips you can share with students as they prepare to study STEM at UH Mānoa!
