Gunhild Carling brings her Holiday Spectacular back to Mason Street for the season. Postmodern Jukebox fans know her as the Swedish swing star who sang and played vintage jazz takes on "Never Gonna Give You Up," "The Final Countdown" and "Happy," that last one on ten different instruments. Raised in the Carling Family band, she plays trombone, trumpet, bagpipes, recorder, harp and banjo, tap dances, and has been known to blow three trumpets at once.
Her holiday album Winter's Day pairs Christmas standards like "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" with a song in Swedish and her own title track. Back home in Sweden she led her Carling Big Band at the Royal Palace in Stockholm for King Carl XVI Gustaf's Ruby Jubilee, and now she makes her home in Northern California. Come see why one trumpet is never enough, especially this time of year.
