Woodcarving Workshop with Exhibiting Artist Nik Gelormino

Woodcarving Workshop with Exhibiting Artist Nik Gelormino

Overview

Slow down, work with your hands, and discover the art of woodcarving in this intimate, hands-on workshop with artist Nik Gelormino.

We are thrilled to be partnering with OBJECTS: USA exhibiting artist Nik Gelormino for a woodcarving workshop at MCD. Gather with us in the galleries for a making experience rooted in wood and the simple pleasure of shaping the material by hand.

Using a carving knife and working directly with Gelormino, participants will learn the fundamentals of woodcarving: exploring grain, texture and techniques as a rough piece of wood is slowly shaped into a tactile form through patience and human touch. No prior experience is necessary. All tools and materials will be provided, and each participant will leave with a hand-carved object.

Join us for an opportunity to learn from a practicing artist, connect with the material, and experience making something by hand.
