The Secret Life of Light × Nini Dog

3-Day Creative Design, Light & Art Holiday Camp for Kids in Singapore

Can we design something that changes when light shines through it?

Discover the creative possibilities of light, shadows, materials and nature in this three-day hands-on design and art holiday camp at Potabella Studio in Woodlands, Singapore.

Organised by Potabella Studio × Shuang Studio, this programme brings together architecture-inspired light exploration, sculptural making and traditional Chinese folk art.

Children will explore how light interacts with different materials, develop their own creations and discover the colourful world of Nini Dog (泥泥狗).

✨ The Secret Life of Light — Design & Material Exploration

Morning | Potabella Studio

Inspired by nature and the patterns of Monstera leaves, children explore how light passes through openings, interacts with surfaces and creates interesting shadows.

Across three sessions, children will:

  • Observe light, shadow, patterns and natural forms.
  • Explore how openings and materials affect light.
  • Experiment with clay and create a vessel that interacts with light.
  • Investigate sticks, paper and translucent materials.
  • Design and construct a light-inspired sculpture.
  • Explore Monstera plant propagation.

Through the process, children discover concepts related to architecture, spatial design, sculpture and material exploration.

Rather than copying a predetermined design, they are encouraged to imagine, experiment and develop their own creative responses.

🎨 Nini Dog — Traditional Chinese Folk Art

Afternoon | Shuang Studio 双栖书香生活空间

Children discover the fascinating forms, colours and patterns of Nini Dog (泥泥狗), a traditional Chinese folk art.

Through observation, cultural exploration and hands-on making, they will create their own interpretations inspired by this art form.

The camp also includes an outdoor experience.
