The Blank Canvas: Somatic Art + Movement at Node Arts Collective
What might you notice if you gave your body a voice in your creative process?
The Blank Canvas is a six-session exploration of art, movement, and the connections between mind and body. Together, we’ll make space for creative curiosity, authentic connection, and small practices you can bring into everyday life.
Through gentle seated movement, art-making, reflection, and group coaching, you’ll be invited to listen to your body and explore what emerges. There’s no need to create something polished or find the right words.
No art, movement, or somatic experience is needed. Come as you are and participate at your own pace. Each invitation offers room for choice, including the choice to pause, observe, or pass.
What we’ll explore
- Gentle seated movement to notice sensations and explore the mind-body connection
- Creative invitations that focus on your experience of making art
- Reflection and conversation to connect with yourself and others
- Simple, repeatable practices that can fit within the life you’re already living
- A closing embodied vision practice to explore what you want to carry forward
Meet your facilitator
I’m Jaime, a body-oriented coach trained at The Somatic School and working toward ICF credentialing. I hold a BFA in Modern Dance and bring decades of experience as a movement educator and small business owner.
I’ve danced through grief and anger and painted through sadness and joy. Art and movement have helped me connect with myself when words weren’t enough.
My coaching training deepened my curiosity about the relationships between the body, neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy. I founded Motiva Method® to make these explorations approachable through a simple, repeatable practice grounded in everyday life.
Having spent much of my life in Salida, Colorado, I carry a deep appreciation for communities where people show up for one another. Supporting the arts—and the small businesses and spaces that help them thrive—is close to my heart. I created this series in that same spirit: a place to explore, connect, and grow together.
Supporting Node Arts Collective
Node’s care for artists and their work makes this collaboration especially meaningful to me. A portion of the series proceeds will be donated to support Node Arts Collective and its work supporting artists.
