THE ZABRECKY HOUR: AN EVENING OF MAGIC, MYSTERY & THE UNEXPECTED

Rob Zabrecky brings his acclaimed magic and storytelling to PRS on November 28, featuring special guest poet Derrick Brown.

There are magicians, and then there’s Rob Zabrecky. The Los Angeles native, known simply as Zabrecky, brings his singular blend of magic, storytelling, deadpan comedy, and surrealist cabaret to the Philosophical Research Society on Saturday, November 28 for The Zabrecky Hour. The evening will also feature a special appearance by acclaimed poet Derrick Brown.

A master of the mysterious and the absurd, Zabrecky operates at the crossroads of séance, satire, and surrealist theater. Channeling the spirit of vaudeville through a David Lynch-esque lens, he transforms traditional magic into a genre-defying experience where the uncanny meets the hilarious and the impossible feels strangely intimate.

A longtime favorite at Hollywood’s legendary Magic Castle, Zabrecky has received eight awards from the Academy of Magical Arts for his performances and lectures. His work has captivated audiences on stages and at festivals from Tokyo to New York. Critics have praised his performances as “transformative comedy,” while Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller has declared Zabrecky’s mentalism both “sincerely funny and sincerely good.” Audiences can also discover Zabrecky’s work in his Amazon Prime special, The Zabrecky Hour, which showcases his distinctive approach to performance, blending astonishing magic with unconventional storytelling and an unmistakable dark wit.

Joining the evening is Derrick Brown, an acclaimed poet and performer whose imaginative, emotionally charged work brings its own brand of surprise and wonder.
