ABOUT THE BOOK:

Meet Grace Millstein. A guitar-playing, sixth grader who loves her life. She has the perfect friends at her fancy prep school, a caring family, and the best mom, Jade. A genius inventor, Jade recently discovered a new technology that predicts how viruses will mutate. Now, everyone in town wants to invest in her company.

But just after her twelfth birthday, Grace learns a terrible truth. Turns out, Grace’s mom is a fraud. Her business is a shell of lies.

Grace's perfect life is gone.

Forced to start over, the only good thing about her new neighborhood is the mysterious boy who keeps popping up wherever she goes. But Grace’s new friend is keeping secrets, too. Big ones. And unless Grace learns to embrace herself—and the past she’s hiding—she might never learn the truth about either of them.
