Experience The Artifact, where film sparks conversation, stories bring us together, and community creates space for collective healing.
What remains becomes part of who we are.
Presented by The DATC Media, The Artifact Discussions: A Healing Experience invites you into three evenings of film, conversation, and community centered on remembrance, connection, and collective healing.
Each gathering begins with a screening of The Artifact: A Hurricane Katrina Remembrance Story, a 28-minute documentary by Deveney Marshall, followed by a roundtable with featured voices from the film and an opportunity for audience conversation and reflection.
Through faith, family, visual art, and hair care, The Artifacts reveal how meaning lives within the beliefs, relationships, and practices we carry forward. Their stories open the door to a larger conversation about what we hold, how we change, and what healing can look like in our own lives.
Rooted in Hurricane Katrina remembrance, this experience welcomes reflection on the many forms of loss, growth, and rebuilding we encounter. You are invited to listen, recognize pieces of your own journey, and connect with others through the stories that make us human.
