Gingerbread House Build 2026 (by Habitat Chicago Associate Board)
Join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly afternoon of gingerbread house building at the 5th Annual Gingerbread House Build, hosted by Habitat Chicago's Associate Board. Get into the holiday spirit and learn more about the mission of Habitat for Humanity Chicago at Pompei Restaurant.
Date: Sunday, December 6
Time: 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM (CST)
Location: 1531 W Taylor St, Chicago, IL 60607
Whether you're a seasoned gingerbread architect or a first-time builder, all skill levels (and all ages) are welcome--no hard hat required!
Purchase a gingerbread house kit ahead of the event, which includes everything you need to build: gingerbread pieces, icing, and candy for decorating. Please note: gingerbread kit quantities are limited, so buy yours now before they sell out! Outside gingerbread kits will not be allowed.
Bring your friends and family to compete in our decorating contest and raffle drawings for the chance to win some incredible prizes while contributing to Habitat Chicago.
Food and beverages (beer, wine, and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase.
Not only will you have a blast building your gingerbread house, but you'll also be supporting a great cause. All proceeds from this event support Habitat for Humanity Chicago to help families and communities achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through housing, beautification, and development projects.
Mark your calendars and join us for a delightful afternoon full to the brim with those cozy holiday vibes. We can't wait to see you there!
