Walk from Assisi to Spello on ancient Roman and Franciscan paths, through olive groves and holm-oak woods with views over the Umbrian valley. A full-day challenge of 24 km and 810 m of climbing for fit hikers, ending in flower-lined Spello with a short train ride back.
