The Irish Woman's Short Film Festival
Join us for an evening of Irish storytelling through film.
The Irish Women’s Short Film Festival brings together 11 short films celebrating the voices and visions of women filmmakers in Ireland and across the global Irish diaspora.
From questions of identity and migration to family, grief, faith, resilience, and finding one’s voice, these films explore the many ways women make sense of where they come from—and where they are going. Their stories cross generations and borders, offering moments of honesty, tenderness, strength, and recognition.
Created by co-producers Jeanne McInerney and Orlaith Carr, the festival grew from conversations about womanhood, belonging, inheritance, and the layered experience of being Irish across generations and oceans. Recent Australian screenings in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney sold out, bringing audiences together around stories that resonated across the diaspora.
Come for the films, stay for the company. The evening offers a relaxed, welcoming chance to meet fellow film lovers, creatives, and members of the Irish community—and to share in the conversations these stories inspire.
Bring a friend and join us at the UICC for a memorable night of film and connection.
