Grow & Gather is a hands-in-the-soil series where we cultivate community & share (the) tea while gardening. This month: Galangal & Ginger.
You're familiar with ginger, but what about it's cousin, galangal? Both part of the zingiberaceae family, greater galangal is also used as an aromatic in cooking but has less pepper and more notes of citrus and pine.
In this month's in-the-soil workshop we'll harvest a patch of ginger and galangal, taste the differences, and discuss different methods of storage. Then you'll learn how to propagate, replant, and care for it.
Come for the skills, analog time, and connection to new community! Leave with some galangal root to start your own plot.
