GRA

GRA

Overview

Trying to figure out how to be human, Gra enters a world of rules, desire, shame, pleasure, love, status, and freedom.

La búsqueda de cómo ser.

Gra is a little worm-like being living somewhere inside Carmen, a voice that emerges from the cracks between who we are and who we’re supposed to be.

Trying to figure out how to be human, Gra enters a world of rules, desire, shame, pleasure, love, status, and freedom. But every answer seems to contain its opposite.

When happens when the mask becomes the face?

Using bouffon clown, mime, physical theater, and the language of the fool, Graexplores what contradiction feels like in the body. Gra moves between high and low status, masculine and feminine, human and creature, confidence and vulnerability—constantly trying on the many masks we use to navigate the world, and discovering that none of them quite fit.

Gra is a physical, absurd, poetic, and tender investigation into the strange business of being alive—and a search for a big, creative, funny, poetic life.

Content Warning: As part of the artists mid-life crisis, this show references existential questions including a reference to suicide. You probably won't be triggered but you have been warned.
