Paris Bossa Nova presents Jobim at Carnegie Hall 1962
celebrating the release of Paris Bossa Nova, Vol. 1 and the centennial of Antonio Carlos Jobim, inspired by the landmark 1962 Carnegie Hall
In honor of Antonio Carlos Jobim’s centennial, Paris-based singer and guitarist Ramsay Rawson presents a special evening celebrating Jobim’s enduring legacy and the musical connection between France and Brazil. Inspired by the landmark 1962 Live at Carnegie Hall concert, which helped bring bossa nova to the world stage, Rawson will be joined by distinguished Brazilian saxophonist Zé Luis, who has collaborated with Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Bebel Gilberto. The evening will also celebrate the release of Paris Bossa Nova, Vol. 1, which honors the musical exchange between France and Brazil in the 1960s. From bossa nova classics to lesser-known musical gems, the repertoire unfolds in Portuguese, French, and English, weaving together the rhythms of Brazil, the improvisational spirit of jazz, and the elegance of French chanson, bringing to life the intimate, cosmopolitan atmosphere of Paris meeting Rio.
