Overview
Robiraki- the start of using the winter hearth (Ro). Guests will enjoy Macha with Japanese sweet. 11/15 Sun. at Hokka Nichi Bei Kai in SF.
Description
During summer, water is heated on portable brazier (Furo). In November, we transition to the Ro (sunken hearth) cut directly into the tatami floor. This shift brings the fire closer to the guests, filling the tea room with warmer atmosphere. We consider November as the New Year of Tea, a time of transition to winther months.
Please join our Robiraki Tea gathering on November 15th! We will serve you a bowl of tea and some okashi sweets.
