Service Academy and ROTC Scholarship Evening with LTC Robert Kirkland: Washington, DC

Most families find out how service academy and ROTC scholarship decisions are made after the application is already in. This evening is for parents and students who want to know before that.

LTC Robert Kirkland is a West Point graduate who led the Army ROTC programs at Claremont McKenna College and USC and was named Army ROTC Instructor of the Year. He will give two short talks, one on how service academy appointments are decided and one on what ROTC scholarship boards score, followed by open questions. There is time before and after to talk with him directly.

Who this is for: parents and students in 9th, 10th and 11th grade who are considering West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, the Coast Guard Academy or the Merchant Marine Academy, or an Army, Navy, Marine Corps or Air Force ROTC scholarship. Parents of seniors are welcome too, and the Q&A will cover where the process stands for them.
