Indications and Warning for a Taiwan Contingency
Join us for a discussion on the history of indications and warning (I&W) and China's erosion of American I&W advantages in the Indo-Pacific
The Institute for Indo-Pacific Security (IIPS) invites you to join us on November 17, 1:00 - 2:30 PM ET, for an in-person event presenting our new report: “Indications and Warning for a Taiwan Contingency.” Attendance is limited. Please RSVP to secure a spot.
The report, to be released after the panel, examines the history of indications and warning (I&W) as a discipline and China's efforts to ensure that the PLA can launch an attack against Taiwan with little or no warning by eroding the I&W advantages of the United States and its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific.
The report's authors, IIPS Chairman of the Board Randall G. Schriver, IIPS Senior Fellow Annie Kowalewski, and IIPS Senior Policy Analyst Marek Haar, will join CSIS China Power Project Director Bonny Lin and moderator Michael Mazza to discuss the report’s findings. The conversation will focus on the report’s implications for preserving the United States Intelligence Community’s ability to adequately warn policymakers of the timing and type of future PLA military actions against Taiwan.
