This training examines the intersection of domestic violence, reproductive coercion, and pregnancy-related decision-making.
Domestic violence and reproductive coercion are deeply interconnected, yet many victim service providers receive little training on how reproductive abuse, pregnancy, and abortion access impact survivor safety and autonomy. This training examines the intersection of domestic violence, reproductive coercion, and pregnancy-related decision-making, highlighting why abortion care and reproductive health resources should be considered an essential component of survivor-centered advocacy. Participants will explore how abusive partners use pregnancy and reproductive control as tools of power and control, the unique safety risks survivors may face during pregnancy, and practical strategies for providing trauma-informed, unbiased support.
