Separating Personal Beliefs and Professional Support
Learn to recognize personal biases, navigate differences in beliefs, and support people in defining their own recovery goals.
How do we support someone when their recovery goals, choices, or beliefs conflict with our own? Peer support asks us to recognize our personal biases and separate our own perspectives from the support we provide to others.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will work through real-world scenarios, practice recognizing personal reactions, and explore how to remain supportive when they don't align with someone's decisions. Together, we'll focus on practical ways to set aside our assumptions, manage internal responses, and honor each person's right to define their own recovery.
