Françoise & Lucy Geelen – Paintings | Opening at EM Studio Gallery

Join us for the opening of a two-artist painting exhibition at EM Studio Gallery in Amsterdam West. FRANÇOISE STOOP builds her compositions from nature: the grandeur of creation, the seemingly endless horizon and the eternity of the cosmos, all brought together in a single line or point. She works with handmade brown ink on paper and oil paint on recycled jute sacks. LUCY GEELEN was asked to illustrate Shakespeare's love sonnets. With paper cut-outs, acrylic and ink she made twenty images that accompany the sonnets but also stand on their own as artworks: timeless and recognisable, yet mysterious and open to many readings. The Dutch translation by Imme Dros appears in November 2026.
