This is not a dry academic talk. Expect storytelling, humor, surprising insights, and plenty of “wait… that’s actually true” moments.
What makes you you? Your thoughts, your memories, your hormones, or some mix of all three? How do your thoughts, moods, and memories shape (and get shaped by) the chemistry of your body?
Join us for another PhDs & Pints, where cutting-edge research meets casual conversation over drinks. This time, we’re diving into the fascinating science of being you with Daniel Rynerson, adjunct professor of psychology.
Whether you’re curious about what makes your mind tick, or simply love learning something new, this event is designed for everyone. No science degree required.
Enjoy an engaging talk, ask your burning questions during a live Q&A, and connect with fellow curious minds in a relaxed, social atmosphere.
Come for the drinks. Stay for the brain science.
Agenda:
Doors Open: 6:30 PM
Lecture + Q&A: 6:45 PM - 8 PM
Open-form networking: 8 PM and onwards
Whether you’re a parent, student, educator, or just someone fascinated by neuroscience, this is the perfect first night for PhDs & Pints. Smart people. Cold drinks. Big conversations.
About PhDs & Pints
Founded by professors, for professors and curious minds, PhDs & Pints is on a mission to bring academic expertise beyond the classroom and into everyday conversations.
We believe that years of research, scholarship, and discovery deserve a bigger stage. In a world overflowing with opinions, we’re creating a space where genuine expertise takes center stage—where professors can share what they know, challenge conventional thinking, and connect directly with the public.
No lectures halls. No academic jargon. Just brilliant minds, fascinating ideas, and great conversations over drinks.
Real research. Real experts. Real conversations.
