This past year, the Drom Artist Collective produced three large-scale music festivals during the FIFA World Cup, and a world-class activation during Nuit Blanche. Drom Artist Collective was the recent recipient of the Arts & Culture Champion Team of the Season Award Winner at the 2026 Champions for Toronto Community Awards.

Every Friday we have been given the great honour of programming a beautiful space at 88 Nassau Street from 5-11pm right in the heart of Kensington Market.

Each week will feature a mix of different events and experiences. We are a a community effort and anything you can offer for a ticket we would greatly appreciate.

October 23 - Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat - Film Screening and Discussion

Soundtrack to a Coup d'Etat', a powerful documentary exploring the intersection of Jazz, African independence, Cold War politics, and the assassination of Congolese leader Patrice Lumumba. Featuring music and stories of legends like Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone and Dizzy Gillespie, the film reveals how jazz became both a diplomatic weapon and a soundtrack to liberation. More than a film screening, it's an invitation to reflect on the relationship between music, politics, culture, and the ongoing struggle for freedom.

October 30 - SAMHAIN: Seanchaíocht agus Scannán - Storytelling and Film

Andrea Healy

As the nights grow darker and the veil between worlds grows thin, we gather to celebrate Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival rooted in Ireland, marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. A time of transition, Samhain was a night when the boundaries between the living and the Otherworld were believed to soften, when the Aos Sí — the supernatural beings of Irish folklore — moved through the landscape, and when stories carried the wisdom, fears and wonders of generations past. In the spirit of Seanchaíocht — the Irish tradition of storytelling — join us for tales, film and a little draíocht (magic). Together, we’ll step into the world of folklore, the mysterious and the unknown, where old traditions meet new stories and imagination takes flight.
