Community Jam: Ukulele Night

Detroit Music Collaborative is teaming up with Pursell Lutherie for a Ukulele Jam-- an all-levels community music gathering where we’ll sing, strum, and make music together in a relaxed, welcoming space. Whether you’re a seasoned player, just learning a few chords, or dusting off a ukulele that’s been sitting in the corner, you’re welcome here.

We’ll play and sing popular songs together, with chord charts provided so you can jump in and join the fun. Want to build your skills along the way? You’ll also have the opportunity to try out some simple strumming and picking patterns with guidance from our facilitator, Cody Wayne.

No auditions. No pressure to be perfect. Just good songs, good people, and making music together.

What to Expect

• Songs you know and love — popular favorites to sing and play together.
• Chord charts provided — so you can follow along and jump in.
• Optional skill-building — explore simple strumming and picking patterns at your own pace.
• Beverages by Casamara Club — enjoy something refreshing while you make music and connect.

No ukulele? No problem! You’re welcome to bring your own, or check with us about borrowing one of Pursell Lutherie’s beautiful ukuleles for the jam. It’s a great opportunity to try one out while making music with others!
