Special Lecture Series: Korean History Through Film

How can films help us understand Korean history and society?

Join Dr. Anders Karlsson for a three-day lecture series exploring Korea's royal tragedies, Confucian family ideals, and contemporary social issues through Korean cinema.

From the political struggles of the Joseon dynasty to class inequality and gender roles in modern Korea, these lectures offer a deeper understanding of the historical and social contexts behind some of Korea's most compelling stories.

No matter whether you are interested in Korean history, cinema, or contemporary culture, this series offers an opportunity to discover Korea from a new perspective.
