Music by 3 Baroque composers who were in the running for "The Leipzig Job" alongside Bach, plus popular works by Johann Sebastian himself!
Get to know the three Baroque composers who turned down the music director job at Thomaskirche in Leipzig before J.S. Bach accepted it, and enjoy beautiful music by Johann Sebastian himself as well! Come for Bach's evergreen Double Violin Concerto and uplifting "Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring" chorale, and stay for gorgeous discoveries by Bach's friends Telemann, Graupner (concerto for two traverso flutes), and Fasch. Followed by a cheese & wine reception with the musicians. FREE ADMISSION but donations are welcome online or at the door. NOTE: Children who are unable to sit quietly for a 1-hour concert should plan to attend the reception after with a parent/guardian. Photography and video are not allowed during the performance.
