At the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to examine photographs documenting striking events on the world agenda.
İstanbul Photo Awards is an international news photography contest organized by Anadolu Ajansı. The contest aims to contribute to the sphere of news photography since 2015. This project rewards endeavors of courageous and talented photojournalists worldwide.
This year’s second exhibition of İstanbul Photo Awards, is taking place in Rome. The exhibition will be hosted at Il Portale Ostiense between October 20 and 30.
Last year, the jury members, consisting of prestigious figures from the global photography world, determined the award-winning works among approximately 19,000 photographs submitted by photographers from 113 different nationalities.
At the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to examine photographs documenting striking events on the world agenda, such as the deadly famine caused by Israel's ongoing attacks on Gaza, wildfires in California, animal rehabilitation in Sudan, traditional sports rituals, and an intimate relationship established with artificial intelligence from Japan, alongside the struggles of Afghan children, life being rebuilt in post-war Syria, space debris as a new environmental problem, portraits of Ukrainian cultural heritage, and the dynamic daily life of a Kenyan community.
