Ean is bringing sexy back. A reflection to night time Ecstatic Dances of the past with deep undulating rhythms. Spaciousness and dynamics that invite us to drop in deeply with ourselves and others. This journey will be well suited for partner dance styles such as contact improvisation and fusion, while also being energetic enough to leave the solo dancer exhausted with ecstatic bliss by the end. Expect to experience big dynamic ranges, with moments of bombastic energy contrasted by periods of delicious intimacy and an afterglow that will stay with you like a beautiful tan for days after…

OPENING CLASS DESCRIPTION

Saunter onto the dance floor, ready to awaken your senses and activate your dance. This guided warm-up invites you to deepen your body awareness and access catharsis through authentic movement. We will gradually transition from solo movement exploration into playful partner and group practices that build trust, attunement, and a shared somatic language. Inspired by principles of Contact Improvisation and Fusion Dance, we'll explore how listening through the body and expanding extra-sensory awareness can open new possibilities for creativity and connection. All levels of experience are welcome to join.

HANNAH JO // movement facilitator

Hannah Jo is a Santa Barbara-based facilitator with a passion for guiding people to slow down and feel themselves more deeply. Whether through her professional work as an Intimacy & Relationship Coach or her group facilitation, she brings a playful and energetically attuned presence to every space she holds. Hannah Jo is one of the organizers of the Santa Barbara Contact Improv Jam and regularly facilitates at Ecstatic Dance Santa Barbara.

EAN GOLDEN // music facilitator

Ean Golden is an internationally respected performer and DJ technology pioneer. After 25 years of touring clubs and festivals worldwide, Ean stepped away from the club circuit to focus exclusively on Ecstatic Dance and conscious events more aligned with his values.

His sets are fully improvised, deeply embodied, and shaped in real time with the room. Drawing from a vast musical range and live performance techniques, Ean expertly weaves rhythmic changes and genre contrasts into a dynamic arc dancers often describe as wild, expressive and completely cathartic.

Known equally as a dancer and a DJ, Ean brings rare sensitivity to the energy of the room, responding moment-by-moment to what wants to emerge. His sets invite presence, expression, and connection — creating a dancefloor that feels alive, intentional, and deeply shared.

He has performed around the globe from Warung in Brazil to Watergate in Berlin and blends drum machines, multiple decks and custom loops to create a seamless journey that is completely original and unique every time.
