Purdown Sessions is back for #4! Come and listen to some locally grown music in a family friendly environment, with hot food and a bar.
Purdown Sessions #4
Great live music, a family-friendly setting, and a reasonable time of day - that’s what Purdown Sessions is all about.
Run by local volunteers, this popular event is back for its fourth instalment. Bring the kids, enjoy the music, and make an afternoon of it. Children go free!
As always, we’ll kick things off with an open mic, followed by two fantastic bands. Everyone is welcome to have a go at performing. If you’d like a slot, email purdownsessions@gmail.com - spaces fill up quickly.
Soma Soma is an eight-piece band bringing together Brazilian and British musicians, singing in Brazilian Portuguese. Their music blends Brazilian styles including samba, bossa nova and arrocha with African grooves such as highlife, afrobeat and soukous.
The Turtleheads play outlaw bluegrass and alternative folk, weaving banjo, fiddle and harmonica around sweet vocal harmonies.
There will be hot food, usually dahl and locally made somosas, and a licensed bar.
