Second Opinion SF: Founder & Operator Decision Room

Second Opinion SF: Founder & Operator Decision Room

Overview

A laid-back, in-person room for founders and operators to get a second opinion on their toughest calls.

Second Opinion SF: Founder & Operator Decision Room

Some decisions need more than another Google search.

Founders and operators rarely struggle because they have no information.

More often, they have:

  • too much context;
  • competing assumptions;
  • incomplete evidence;
  • nobody neutral enough to challenge the decision before it becomes expensive.

SECOND OPINION SF is a 20-person working room for founders, operators, consultants, and independent builders bringing one real professional decision they are actively trying to make.

During the evening, participants work through a structured process designed to:

  • separate evidence from assumption;
  • expose blind spots;
  • challenge framing;
  • identify a smaller useful test;
  • clarify a realistic next move.

You will challenge other people’s thinking.

Other participants will challenge yours.

The goal is not:

“Tell me what to do.”

The goal is:

“Help me see what I may be missing.”

CORE WORKING RULE

Challenge the Decision, Not the Person

Useful questions include:

  • “What evidence supports that?”
  • “What assumption is doing the most work here?”
  • “What would have to be true for this to work?”
  • “What would change your mind?”
  • “What is the cheapest useful test?”
  • “What are you treating as true that you have not verified?”

Avoid:

  • “You obviously need to…”
  • “That’s a bad idea.”
  • “You should definitely…”
  • “I know exactly what you need to do.”

The purpose is to improve the decision process, not win the discussion.
