Join Curio Spice Co for a food writing workshop hosted by local writer and lecturer, Paula Laurel Jackson.
Our most vivid memories are often tied to food. In this workshop, participants will use Curio Spice Co’s collection of spices to resurface otherwise forgotten memories and explore questions of culture and identity through a structured free-write. At the end, folks will have the option of sharing their writing with the group.
Guided by Paula Laurel Jackson, author and creator behind Once Upon a Thyme, this two hour workshop will take place Thursday, November 12th, 6:30-8:30pm.
About your workshop host:
Paula Laurel Jackson is a writer, researcher, and lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education, a children’s book author, and an enthusiastic cook and baker. Raised between worlds, she explores how food carries the stories of where we come from—and the lives we make along the way. She brings a researcher’s curiosity and a storyteller’s attention to the intimate details of everyday life: a remembered flavor, a handwritten recipe, someone missing from the table. She is the creator of Once Upon a Thyme, a blog and forthcoming podcast exploring food, memory, culture, and belonging.
