Tuning In: Psychedelic Neuroscience & Embodied Vibration
A lecture on the brain and consciousness, woven with live didgeridoo and somatic practice, flowing into a night of dance. Brooklyn, Nov 8.
What happens in the brain when we tune in, and what happens in the body?
Join the Brooklyn Psychedelic Society and Toucan Sounds for an evening that moves from body and brain science toward energy, vibration, and consciousness. Izzy Bermudez, M.S. guides us from something concrete (neurons, brain structure) to something more abstract and felt (attention, flow, subjective experience). Movement and sound breaks are woven in throughout, so you don't just hear about the ideas, you physically experience them.
Henry Kandel brings live didgeridoo and somatic practice into the evening: vibration you feel in the body rather than only hear, and somatic-awareness practices that flow from the concepts in the lecture. These felt experiences are interspersed through the talk, then carry the room from sitting into moving.
At 8 PM, Toucan Sounds opens the floor for a joyful, physical release through dance.
Why we're gathering
To teach real neuroscience in an accessible, embodied way, use that science as a bridge into bigger questions about consciousness and reality, and ground all of it in community values.
