Sokunin: A Journey Through Japan's Traditional Craft Workshops
A brand new book celebrating Japan’s treasured artisans and lesser-known regions.
After months of hard work bringing the Shokunin book into the world, I am excited to share I will be hosting the first official launch and exhibition this month at @clinic_tokyo in Sangenjaya, Tokyo 🇯🇵
Through the pages of Shokunin, I invite you behind the scenes on journeys up and down Japan, sharing the stories of the country’s most treasured artisans and the regions they call home; from mask-makers in suburban Kyoto to indigo dyers with stained hands in the mountains of Gifu.
This book has been a true labour of love, and I’m so proud of how far the project has come, and how much we’ve been able to support the artisans included. Now I can’t wait to share the book with you for the first time in person!
