Prayers for Peace
Overview

Prayers for Peace

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Henderson Stake is pleased to host this Interfaith event in recognition of the week of Prayer for World Peace (2nd week of October).

The West Auckland Women’s Interfaith Initiative WAWII was founded by Inter-faith Specialist Anna Featherstone after the Christchurch Mosque tragedies in 2019 to foster Interfaith relations and improve cooperation between faith groups in West Auckland.

Prayers for Peace is an event held by WAWII, involving representatives from 15 different faith communities (and growing). The event is hosted at a different place of worship each year with this year being the 8th time people of faith have gathered.

It is a lovely, gentle, peaceful and heartwarming event, full of community aroha and warmth. The main part of the event is around an hour and twenty minutes long, with each faith group offering hearfelt prayer. This is followed by kai and korero to give the Interfaith community an opportunity to mix, mingle and network.

Please commit to come and support this uplifting and collaborative Interfaith event.
