AI for Construction Trades & Green Tech

Online event
Overview

Free live Zoom for plumbers, HVAC, electricians, locksmiths & towing pros. Pick a Digital Helper, build it live, leave with your plan.

You didn't get into the trades to run an office from the front seat of your truck.

But that's the job now. The phone rings while you're under a sink, up on a roof, or hooking a car on the shoulder of Route 128, and the customer calls the next name on the list. The estimate you promised Tuesday goes out Friday. Invoices wait for Sunday night. Your happiest customers never get asked for a review. And the office help you'd hire? Construction alone needs 349,000 more workers in 2026 (Associated Builders and Contractors). Good luck finding one who will answer your phone.

Here's what nobody says out loud: this is not a work ethic problem. Nobody outworks a tradesperson. It's a structural problem, and it has a name.

Broken Leg Syndrome

Every trades business stands on three legs: People, Systems, and Money. When one cracks, the whole business limps. The dangerous part? Most owners limp so long they stop noticing. They lean harder on the good legs: more hours, more calls at dinner, more Saturdays. The business still wobbles.

  • People: everything runs through you. You're the tech, the dispatcher, the estimator, and the collections department.
  • Systems: calls, quotes, follow-ups, and reviews live in your head and your text thread, so they slip through the cracks.
  • Money: invoices go out late, payments come in later, and the rebates and funding your customers qualify for never come up.

You can't hire your way out. So build your first crew member.

AI won't swing a hammer, and it shouldn't. What it can do is take the seat nobody's sitting in. We call it a Digital Helper: a back-office crew member that drafts, follows up, quotes, invoices, and posts while you stay on the tools. You stay the boss. It drafts. You approve.

Contractors who've started are pulling ahead. Among trades pros who use AI, two in three save at least three hours a week, and four in ten save five or more (ServiceTitan, 2026). And 68% of home service pros using AI say it has contributed to revenue growth (Housecall Pro, 2026). So what's holding everyone else back? The number one barrier contractors name is understanding how to use AI in their own business (ServiceTitan, 2026).

That's exactly what we fix in one hour.

Pick your hire

Choose the one Digital Helper your business needs most. You'll build it live:

  1. Patch the Dispatcher: answers inquiries, writes follow-ups, confirms appointments, and chases quotes that went quiet.
  2. Tim the Estimator: turns your job notes, photos, and price sheet into a clean, itemized estimate.
  3. Biddy the Bid & Proposal Writer: turns a scope of work or an RFP into a professional proposal, with nothing missed.
  4. Bookie the Bookkeeper: drafts invoices, payment reminders, and thank-you notes that get you paid faster.
  5. Promise the Promoter: turns job photos into posts, before-and-after stories, and review requests.

Keep the nickname or give it one of your own. Beth named her content helper Chisme, because chisme always has the tea.

How you'll build it: The RenegAIDE Method™

Nine steps in plain English, the same way you'd hire and train a new apprentice.

  • Hire: Recruit the Role · Expose the Break · Name the Inputs
  • Train: Explain Every Step · Give It Guardrails · Assign the Humans · Instill Your Voice
  • Prove: Define Done · Evaluate on a Real Job

What you'll walk away with

  • Your broken leg, found. The Broken Leg Diagnostic™ shows whether People, Systems, or Money is costing you the most.
  • Your first Digital Helper, built live in about 15 minutes on Base44, with (Dr.) Beth Griffith walking you through every click. Already use ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini? Bring it. Your Digital Helper Work Order works there too.
  • Hands-on tech help in breakout rooms, one for each helper, so nobody gets left behind.
  • Your Repair Plan: a personal plan for which helper to hire next, so one hour turns into a habit.

Free. No tech skills required. If you can send a text, you can do this.

What to bring: a laptop or desktop and a strong internet connection. You will build live, and a phone will not be enough.

Built for the people who build things

Plumbers, HVAC and heat pump techs, electricians, solar installers, locksmiths, towing and roadside operators, general contractors, remodelers, roofers, property managers, energy auditors, weatherization crews, green tech founders, and the trainers and ed tech teams preparing the next generation of tradespeople. Solo operators to 50-person crews. Office managers and family members who keep the books are welcome too.

Massachusetts employer? The Workforce Training Fund Express Program from Commonwealth Corporation can reimburse eligible employers with 100 or fewer employees up to $15,000 a year for approved training. This free workshop is not a reimbursable course, but tell us on your order form if you would like us to check whether your company qualifies for state training funds.

Your guide: (Dr.) Beth Griffith

AI Advisor and Architect, Founder of Renewable Renegades and RenegAIDE Collective

She holds the trade credentials. She builds the software. And on October 20, she builds your first Digital Helper with you, live.

She has worked in the trades and construction since she was a teenager, so she knows exactly how hard it is: the calls that never stop, the estimates that go out late, the invoices that wait for Sunday night, a company that runs on one person's back. The principles she teaches were built for construction owners and contractors by someone who has lived the work.

In the field, she is a Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor (HIC), Building Analyst Professional (BAP), Green Infrastructure Professional (GIP), and LEED Green Associate. At the keyboard, she is a certified Base44 advanced builder instructor who built RetrofitIQ, a software-as-a-service platform for the trades built specifically for one-to-four family decarbonization and co-awarded a MassCEC FY25 EmPower Innovation and Capacity Building grant.

As an educator, she has taught AI for Product Market Fit and AI for Project Management in Construction and Clean Energy. Twenty-eight of her AI training courses are listed in the Workforce Training Fund Express Program directory of Commonwealth Corporation, the Massachusetts workforce development agency, including courses on construction project management, bids and proposals for contractors, safety culture and toolbox talks, and green building. She is an adjunct with Browning the Green Space, helping women and others in the trades start and scale renewable energy businesses. She has trained and mentored more than 1,400 individuals and business owners, facilitated nearly 3,600 tax returns that brought $7 million in refunds to low- and middle-income households, and helped gig workers secure over $2 million in forgivable funding.

The work has been noticed. She was a featured AI speaker at the 2026 Mass Black Expo, hosted by the Black Economic Council of Massachusetts (BECMA). She is a 2026 Boston Tech Week Hackathon winner and was accepted into Harvard Business School Foundry for one of her software-as-a-service products. Her mentor is Alicia Lyttle, "The Queen of AI," and she was a panelist at Lyttle's in-person AI event at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. She earned the AI Certified Authority (Thought Leadership) credential, with Honors, through Lyttle's AI InnoVision.

Her roots run deep and her work runs wide. She is President and co-founder of NEPAI (Northeast Professionals in Artificial Intelligence), a Massachusetts nonprofit in its founding year making AI accessible to everyone across eleven Northeast jurisdictions; co-founder and founding worker-member of the Boston Community Solar Cooperative; and a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Latinas in Tech, and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE).

A veteran, a proud alumna of Roxbury Community College and Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, and Boston born, raised, and rooted, she studied entrepreneurship through a Cornell University certificate program and is pursuing an MBA with a specialization in AI.

On Tuesday, October 20, she brings all of it to your screen: the Broken Leg Diagnostic™ to find what is holding your business back, The RenegAIDE Method™ to hire, train, and prove your first Digital Helper, and a live 15-minute build you leave with.
