Kirtan - An evening of Devotional Chanting in the Bhakti Yoga Tradition

Overview

You will be led in group chanting by Tom on the harmonium, supported by Mike on the Tabla Drum - no experience necessary, all welcome!

Ecstatic Kirtan - an evening of blissful devotional singing!

This event is hosted by Tom, who will be leading Kirtan on the harmonium, and joined by Mike on the tabla drum. Tom has been leading Kirtan now for over 6 years, and Mike has been playing the beautiful Indian tabla drum for over 20 years.

Kirtan is a heart practice centred around singing/chanting sacred vibrational mantras that have incredibly powerful effects in the body and mind. It is a central part of the path of Bhakti Yoga. The practice can bring us out of our heads and into deep presence as well as connecting us to the ecstatic realms. The mantras are very simple and easy to learn and you will be fully guided, It is open to complete beginners and no experience is necessary. Anyone can chant and the group supports all! You may feel drawn to get up and dance at points or lie down and just soak up the vibrations - everything is welcome in the space!
