An unforgettable four-course Mexican-inspired dinner with 2026 Jean Banchet Rising Chef of the Year, Javauneeka Jacobs!
Join us for a four-course Friendsgiving dinner at Château Aster on Monday, November 2nd, with Chicago’s 2026 Jean Banchet Rising Chef of the Year, Chef Javauneeka Jacobs.
One of the most exciting voices in Chicago’s culinary landscape right now, Chef Javauneeka is the youngest sous-chef ever at Rick Bayless’ Frontera Grill, where she now serves as co-chef. Her cooking style blends Afro-Mestizo history with modern Mexican cuisine and a sustainable, vegetable-forward approach, which earned her the title of 2023 Grand Champion of Food Network’s Chopped: Julia Child’s Kitchen tournament.
Kicking things off, Petite Acres Head of Hospitality Andrew Prazich will be shaking up a seasonal welcome drink, with more drinks available for purchase throughout the night to pair with Chef Javauneeka’s multi-course menu, which is inspired by some of her favorite Mexican dishes. Guests will enjoy Barbacoa de Borrego, slow-cooked red chile lamb shank with ayocote beans and peanut-arbol salsa; Tortitas de Plantain; Yuca Tamales; and a sweet finish of Peanut Flan.
Please join us for an evening of friends, family, and delicious food as we kick off the holiday season at Petite Acres.
