As Wynwood gentrifies and threatens to swallow up what's left of Little San Juan, Leti's El Mofongo de Miami Bar & Restaurant faces closure. That is, unless this final gambit works: Leti's daughter Ana, an aspiring actor, suggests performing Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard to raise awareness. As the play rehearses, the restaurant's community begins to see the ways their situation both mirrors Chekhov's play and stands separate from it. Is any play truly universal? Can art really change the world?
